All applicants to Dartmouth are required to submit either the SAT = examination=20 administered by the College = Board or=20 the ACT (with writing) offered by ACT,=20 Inc. In addition, applicants must submit the results from any two = SAT=20 Subject Tests. Dartmouth has no minimum test score required for = admission, nor a=20 maximum above which admission is guaranteed. The Admissions Committee = does not=20 apply a formulaic approach to determine the value of testing results for = all=20 applicants but instead incorporates an individual's test scores into a = broad=20 consideration of the candidacy for admission.
If standardized testing is repeated, the = Admissions Committee considers the highest components from the SAT, = even if=20 these results are from different test administration dates.
For the ACT, the Committee considers the = highest=20 composite score and does not combine sub-scores from multiple test=20 administrations.
If an applicant submits more than two = SAT Subject=20 Tests, the Committee will use the two highest scores = submitted.
Applicants to Dartmouth may elect to use = the College=20 Board=E2=80=99s or the ACT=E2=80=99s =E2=80=9Cscore choice=E2=80=9D = options when deciding which test scores=20 to submit for review. However, applicants must request submission = of test=20 results to the Dartmouth Office of Admissions by the application = deadline. If=20 standardized testing is repeated, the Admissions Committee only = considers your=20 highest scores.
Information and test registration forms = may be=20 obtained from your high school guidance office or by writing to the College Board or to ACT, Inc. Dartmouth's College Board = number is=20 3351, and the ACT code number is = 2508.
