Georgetown, =
located=20
in the heart of one of the world's most=20
culturally and politically prominent =
cities,=20
welcomes applications from talented=20
international students who wish to join =
our=20
exciting community.
International=20
applicants to Georgetown follow the same =
application procedure and deadlines as =
US=20
citizens. All candidates (including =
non-US=20
citizens or non-permanent residents) are =
reviewed without consideration of a =
student's=20
financial resources. Thus, it is not =
necessary=20
to send a Statement of Finances with =
your=20
application. Plainly stated, our =
"Need-Blind"=20
admissions policy applies to everyone. =
The fastest =
and=20
easiest way to apply is to download the=20
application from h=
ere.=20
If you are unable to download it, please =
inform=20
your regional admissions officer (listed =
below=20
under "Communicating with Us") and =
provide your=20
name and complete mailing address so =
that an=20
application can be mailed to you.
Georgetown Policy on =
Score=20
Choice
SAT
Georgetown's SAT code=20
is 5244.
Georgetown =
only=20
considers the critical reading and math =
portions=20
of the SAT, not the writing section. If =
an=20
applicant takes the SAT more than once, =
the=20
admissions committees will consider the =
highest=20
critical reading score and the highest =
math=20
score from multiple test sessions when =
reviewing=20
the application.
ACT
Georgetown's ACT code=20
is 0668.
Georgetown =
accepts=20
the ACT in lieu of the SAT. Applicants =
who take=20
the ACT more than once will have their =
highest=20
composite score considered in the =
evaluation=20
process. The optional writing section on =
the ACT=20
is not required, nor is the writing =
subscore=20
used in the application review process. =
SAT =
Subject=20
Tests
All =
candidates,=20
whether they submit scores from the SAT =
or ACT,=20
are requested to submit scores from =
three SAT=20
Subject Tests of their choice. The =
scores from=20
writing portion on the SAT and the =
optional=20
writing portion of the ACT will =
not be=20
used in place of a Subject Test.
*Note =
to Early=20
Action Applicants:
Given the=20
Early Action deadline of November 1, the =
Committee on Admissions recognizes that=20
applicants may not be able to meet the =
SAT=20
Subject Test requirements. Those =
candidates are=20
welcome to submit an Early Action =
application,=20
and the application will be considered =
complete=20
and reviewed in its entirety. Candidates =
applying under the Early Action plan who =
have=20
not yet taken three Subject Tests should =
still=20
register to take the tests in the event =
they are=20
deferred from Early Action to Regular =
Decision.=20
If there are extenuating circumstances =
which=20
prevent an applicant from submitting =
three SAT=20
Subject Test scores, the applicant =
should=20
provide a written explanation to the =
Committee=20
on Admissions to be included with the=20
application.
TOEFL
The Test of =
English=20
as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) is =
required of=20
candidates studying in non-US =
educational=20
systems and whose native language is not =
English. Please contact either the Educational Testing =
Service=20
(ETS) or the American College Testing =
Program=20
(ACT) for details about this exam. =
If you will =
graduate=20
from a school with a final examination =
such as=20
the British A-Levels, German Abitaur, =
French=20
Baccalaureat, or International =
Baccalaureate,=20
you will need to submit both Projected =
and Final=20
results. These should be included in the =
Secondary School Report sent from your =
college=20
counselor, teacher or the Head of =
School.
A very =
limited number=20
of need-based scholarships is available =
to=20
students who are neither US Citizens or =
US=20
permanent residents and who demonstrate=20
financial need. Students who wish to be=20
considered for one of these awards =
should=20
indicate their intent on the Application =
for=20
Undergraduate Admission and will be =
asked to=20
submit an International Student =
Financial=20
Aid Application. For further =
details, please=20
see the Office of Student Financial =
Services website.
Due to time =
zone=20
differences, we will initially try to =
communicate with you via email. =
Therefore,=20
we strongly suggest you regularly check =
the=20
email account you have provided us for =
any=20
updates or requests from our office. =
Similarly,=20
notify us if any change in email, =
address,=20
telephone contact information.
Should you =
have=20
unusual or unique circumstances =
regarding your=20
application and/or have difficulty =
submitting=20
required documents, please consult =
directly with=20
one of admissions officers below.
